How should I care for my LAB31 pieces?
Our metal furniture is made from powder coated steel. Powder coating is a strong, durable and scratch resistant finish. Under normal use it requires no additional care or maintenance. It is possible to damage the finish if it is dropped onto a rough surface, gouged with a sharp instrument or otherwise mis-handled. It is possible to touch up the finish, to prevent rusting, by applying a color matched material supplied by the powder coat finish manufacturer. If you would like some touch up material please contact LAB31 and we will put you in touch with the power coat manufacturer. Our wood pieces are made from solid, local hardwoods. The finish we use is a natural tung oil and has good resistance to water or other non-oil stains.  All the same any spills should be wiped up immediately! The pieces can be cleaned with a damp cloth and a mild soap solution, but be sure not to wet the piece too heavily.

What is that symbol on your mirrors and other Temescal pieces?
The resin inlay design is an abstraction of a tatting pattern.  Textiles are a big inspiration here at LAB31.
